The “Krabi Elephant Shelter” was built with the purpose of providing a second home for the elephants
who were being subjected to excruciatingly painful conditions in forestry operations and riding camps prior to the construction of the shelter.
We don’t ride our elephants or put them to work; rather, we integrate them into our everyday operations and have adapted our methods to accommodate them so that we can all take part in the things we enjoy together.
Care and Protection
Shelters offer essential care and protection for domestic elephants, safeguarding them from harm and ensuring their well-being.
Rehabilitation
Shelters provide a supportive environment for rehabilitating domestic elephants, helping them recover from past traumas and learn to trust humans again.
Education
Shelters serve as educational centers, raising awareness about the challenges faced by captive elephants and promoting ethical treatment and conservation efforts.
This is because the elephants that are currently living with us have been forced to cohabit with humans. You will learn new things like how warm, how hot, and how hungry they are every day"

Elephants, majestic creatures of our planet, are facing a critical threat to their existence. Without swift and concerted international efforts, they may vanish from our world within a single generation. Our mission is clear: to bolster their well-being and ensure they thrive for generations to come, honoring their legacy and preserving their presence on Earth.
For millennia, the Asian elephant has shared its existence with humanity, spanning over 4,000 years. Revered and deeply intertwined with traditions and spirituality in numerous cultures, its significance is profound. In Thailand particularly, the elephant holds a revered status as a national icon. So esteemed is this gentle giant that a designated national holiday celebrates its presence, and on special occasions, elephants may even be bestowed with a Royal title by the King.
